LONDON — A man pleaded guilty today to illegally selling fake Viagra tablets to customers in London, to the tune of thousands of pounds.
Kieran Patel, 32, pleaded guilty to selling the tablets at a high street pharmacy in London.
A special hearing on Thursday was scheduled for at a hearing in London on charges of distribution of counterfeit pills.
The case is being prosecuted by special prosecutor Prof Andrew Sampson.

The investigation was carried out by the UK-based Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
The company, which is based in Kent, which was formed in 1997, is an established pharmaceutical company.
The tablets were supplied in packs of 100 tablets each, but the pills were labelled as ‘Viagra’.
The tablets were sold under the brand name Viagra and the company is currently marketing them on behalf of the company.
"These tablets were ordered for customers in London," Mr Sampson said.
"We would not sell them to them if they were in the UK."
Patel admitted selling the fake Viagra tablets to customers in London.
He admitted using the tablets to make money.
He has pleaded not guilty to any charge relating to the sale of the fake Viagra.
